who we are:
Powersource Youth Ministry is the jr. high & high school ministry of NBCA. We minister to 7th – 12th grade students from over a dozen different school districts all over Beaver County.
At Powersource, our vision is to see these students GROW DEEP, GO WIDE, & GIVE BIG.
… is all about discipleship.
Our heart is to see students have a vibrant, growing, Spirit-filled relationship with Jesus. We believe that if they discover this as a teenager, it will equip and empower them for a life-long relationship with Him!
This is accomplished through our weekly services, small groups, and retreats. Every time we gather, worship, teaching, prayer, giving, and community is the focus!
… is all about others.
As followers of Jesus, we should have a passion for reaching our friends, family, and community with His love. Whether it’s outreach events, community serving opportunities, or simply inviting friends to Powersource, we seek to instill into students that Jesus isn’t our “best kept secret.”
… is all about serving.
Jesus modeled this for us as He constantly sought to serve others. Our desire is to help teens develop a selfless lifestyle by giving of their time, to build the kingdom of God through generous financial giving, and to discover their God-given gifts and put them into action!
OUR 3 PRIORITIES:
At Powersource, we believe, “life change happens in circles, not in rows.” Led by incredible volunteer leaders, Small Groups are the avenue by which students experience community (connecting with friends old and new) and growth (discussing the Word, praying for and edifying one another, and accountability) on a personal level.
Small Group touchpoints happen monthly on Wednesday nights and during special gatherings outside of Powersource.
Something happens when normal, everyday distractions are removed and the focus is put fully on Jesus…and it is usually life-changing encounters with God! This is why we believe in the power of retreats and see incredible growth take place as a result!
We attend four retreats throughout the year, all of which serve a unique and powerful purpose. *Though there are costs associated with our retreats, we offer fundraising year round to cover these costs. We encourage your child to participate!
Our desire is to help teens embrace a lifestyle of giving, expressed in three ways: time, talent, and treasure. To give of your time is to serve others; to give of your talent is to use your God-given gifts for His glory; and to give of your treasure is to participate in something bigger than yourself, building the Kingdom of God!
We offer several ways for students to give of their time & talents: through special service events, through consistent serving on Wednesday nights at Powersource (with the worship team, media & tech teams, set up & tear down team, prayer team, etc), or through serving in various departments at NBCA (Champions children’s ministry, God’s Big Backyard pre-k ministry, worship & media teams, parking ministry, etc).
